China Service Project

This announcement is an invitation to participate in a remarkable humanitarian project in Northern China. In the past three years we have taken two groups of dentists and hygienists to this facility with wonderful results.

This orpahange/ school is in the city of Chaoyang in Liaoning Province and has 600 high school age children who can receive lasting benefits from our service. Nu Skin Inc. out of Provo donated the money for us to purchase modern dental equipment for this clinic. We have two stationary dental chairs and one portable unit. We also have x-ray and ultrasonic scalers. We are able to perform all treatment modalities that do not require lab work. The students are eager to get treatment and line up outside the door for their turn.

We work in 5 hour shifts so that you can have time to work and time to visit places. Chaoyang is a beautiful mid sized town that seldom has foreign visitors. The people are friendly and it is a very safe environment.

Our Itinerary is:
October 12 th 7:00PM meet at Salt Lake Airport Catch 9:00 flight to San Francisco
then on to Beijing.
Arrive in Beijing on Sunday Oct 14 8:00 AM and take charter bus to Chaoyang.
October 15 - 18 Chaoyang clinic.
October 18 PM return to Beijing
October 19 Visit The Great Wall and The Summer Palace.
October 20 Tian An Men Square and The Forbidden City, and of course The Silk Market
October 21 return to SLC Arrive at SLC 8:00 PM

Cost of the trip is $1800 * If airline ticket prices hold steady
(This is all tax deductible through the LDS Dental Academy)

This includes: Round trip tickets from SLC, all bus and travel expenses, all meals , all hotels. You will be expected to get your own passport and visa. We can assist you with that.

We will limit this trip to about eight dentists and 2 hygienists. Spouses are welcome. We will consider family and friends upon request.

Spouses are very helpful in keeping the clinic organized and also in visiting classes at the school to teach English pronunciation.

I will take applications on a first come basis.
