Academy Database Project

One of the most meaningful projects the Academy has undertaken is now in progress. There is such a burgeoning need for LDS dentists, hygienists, and staff for missionary/humanitarian services in developing countries that current methods for locating these people are inadequate. We are therefore collecting the names and associated information from as many LDS dentists as possible throughout the world. Each LDS dentist we locate will receive an "LDS Dentist Humanitarian Profile" questionnaire to complete and return, if they feel comfortable doing so. This information will be entered into a sophisticated and very confidential database for use of the Church and the Academy to locate potential dentists/hygienists for the various humanitarian projects as they arise.

It is anticipated that in most cases each of these persons will be called by and set apart by Church authorities for this service. Area "captains" have been called for most of the western U.S. to seek out these LDS dentists, but we know they will not reach everyone.

We would respectfully request that all of you living east of Colorado search for all the LDS dentists you know in your state, or county, and send in your names and addresses (preferably home addresses, if known) to Dr. David N. Wright, 345 S. 990 W., Orem, Utah 84058. You may fax the list to 801-226-7500, or email it to dnwrightdmd@attbi.com. We wish to have as many names as possible by March 15, 2003, and sincerely appreciate your efforts in helping us build our database.
