Don Bloxham Honored

The American Association of Dental Schools recently honored the predental advisor of Brigham Young University during a meeting of the admissions, financial aid, and student affairs officers of all the dental schools in the United States.

Don Bloxham was recognized for "exceptional dedication and outstanding contributions to academic dentistry and dental school admissions." Bloxham has been the director of the Health Professions Office at BYU for over 21 years and is currently the liaison for the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions to AADS. He serves on the National Task Force of the American Association of Dental Schools Application Service and has been involved in the new Web application and AADSAS, serving as a clearing house for all letters of evaluation and recommendation. He is currently the president elect of the Western Association of Advisors for the Health Professions for the second time.

One aspect of receiving the award was particularly moving for Bloxham. When the award was presented, he received a standing ovation from those present.
