Academy of LDS Dentists President's Message

The Academy of LDS Dentists was organized in 1978 with the purpose of providing members the opportunity to increase their professional skills through continuing education and service opportunities. The vision of the Academy continues to expand and move forward at a quickened pace. Our members are having a positive impact in many ways in many areas of the world. They are not only providing dental services to the needy but also educational opportunities to our colleagues in areas of the world where those occasions are limited or nonexistent. Thanks to our members and those who have served so ably in the past, we are moving in the most positive directions to bless the lives of all within our circle of influence.

It has been an honor and privilege to serve with the members of the Academy Executive Committee. I do not know of a more selfless group of people. They are among the busiest and most efficient professionals I know. Special thanks must go to Gordon Christensen, the founder of our organization, for his tireless dedication and service. You, as members of the Academy, are a unique group in your interests and dedication to the highest our profession has to offer.

I hope you are making plans to join with us in August for our annual conference at Brigham Young University. It seems that each year the conference gets bigger and better. The entire family will have a wonderful and memorable experience. Many of our members have made this an annual tradition. Even now that my children are grown, they talk about the fun they had at the Academy meetings. There is nothing like it for your spouse and children.
