Academy of LDS Dentists President's Message

On behalf of the Executive Committee, I would like to let the members of the Academy of LDS Dentists know how much we appreciate their support. Thank you for your attendance at our annual meeting in Provo, for your financial contributions, and for the time and service so many of you have given on behalf of the less fortunate. As I'm sure most of you are aware, none of the Executive Committee receive any financial enumeration for their service, so we are able to do a great deal more than most organizations with the funds we receive.

We are pleased with the educational programs that have been available to our members in the past and feel that the future will be even better. Not only are we excited about the continuing education that our members receive at our annual conference, but also for the opportunities they have to share that knowledge with others. This year we will have groups teaching in Mexico and Peru. We feel the future holds even more and greater prospects for service.

We not only are providing care for patients, as we always have, but are assisting the dentists and other health care professionals of the third world nations to increase their knowledge, understanding, and skills. We feel education will have a greater and longer lasting impact. Each dentist we assist will in turn affect the lives of many patients long after we are gone.

We would hope you will take a few minutes at this time to renew your membership and would encourage you to be generous, if possible, with a donation to the scholarship fund. We know many of you renew your membership in those years you are able to attend the conference, but we need and would appreciate your ongoing support on an annual basis. We count on the proceeds from dues to fund the ongoing scholarship programs and service efforts.

Please mark your calendar for next year's conference to be held August 17 and 18. You owe it to yourself and your family not to miss this event. Please make your colleagues aware of our organization and encourage their joining with us. Don't forget to check out our Web site at academyofldsdentists.com for additional information.

We wish you and yours the best in the coming year.

Sincerely,

Michael S. Rockwel
