Spouses' Report

I am happy to report that our annual conference which was held this past August was a big success! I know I certainly enjoyed the classes I attended and the sisterhood I felt throughout the weekend.

It's always difficult finding speakers and topics that will be interesting to everyone, but I think during this past conference there was something for each of us.

I have been truly blessed to serve as president of the Spouses' Organization this past two years. I have made many new friends and acquaintances, have learned more about the purpose of the Academy and how it works, and have come to appreciate more fully the amount of time and effort that goes on "behind the scenes" of this organization and the brothers and sisters who are involved with it.

I would like to thank all of you who helped with the Mexico Orphanage Service Project. Many of you sent in recipes and purchased a cookbook (or several!). The proceeds from the cookbook sales totaled $4,250. This entire amount will go to the orphanage, and I'm sure it is greatly appreciated. (If you did NOT receive the letter last spring asking for recipes for the cookbook, ask your husband to be sure future mailings from the Academy get to you at home. These mailings usually go to the office and don't always reach you at home.)

Once again, thank you so very much for the opportunity I have had to serve as president of the Spouses' Organization. I appreciate each of you and look forward to seeing you at future conferences!
