Conference Report -- August 11 and 12, 2000

The August conference was a great success. It was well attended, and those who came were treated to much useful information on how to improve the treatment which they provide. Topics included ideas on improving your practices, personal finances, and much more. We thank Gordon Christensen not only for the information which he presents but also for all he does to make the conference a success. The Friday night dinner was spiritual as well as informative. Phillip Forsey entertained us with his delightful, heartwarming singing. Merrill J. Bateman, president of Brigham Young University, was enlightening as well as informative about the tremendous advances and objectives concerning BYU, which are, as he explained: (1) educate the minds and spirits of the students, (2) extend the blessings of learning to others, (3) advance knowledge, and (4) develop friends. He explained the technology BYU is working on such as BYU online courses, digital learning and digital libraries, supercomputers, ground water modeling, and preserving and restoring ancient texts.

Some of the comments from those who attended this year's conference were:
"Great meeting and a beautiful atmosphere"
"Excellent instructors, excellent food, excellent staff"
"Great presentations, seeing friends, and great service project"
"Great time of year, wonderful facility, and well organized"

We appreciate all those who put so much effort into making the conference run so well. We look forward to seeing all of you next year. The conference dates are August 17 and 18, 2001.
