We gave $25,000 to the Church Educational System for students in nine countries and twenty U.S. students in eighteen dental schools. We received $31,592 in dues and scholarships from the membership. In order to fully fund the scholarships, the Executive Committee used income generated from the annual conference and appreciation of the money invested with Merrill Lynch. The Academy of LDS Dentists has funded projects in Guadalajara, Mexico, and Lima, Peru; has supplied new portable units; and has a special project in Indonesia due to a generous gift by an Academy member. Also, many members of the Academy of LDS Dentists have paid their own expenses as they have served orphanages in projects all over the world. The Executive Committee would like to express gratitude for all the support you offer in contributions, especially to the scholarship fund. We hope that everyone will continue to donate whatever he or she can to this fund. Sincerely, Vaughan D. Rigby, DDS |
