Finance Committee Report

This year 62 dental students from 29 dental schools applied for out Academy scholarships. Twelve undergraduate schools were also represented. This year we were able to award thirty $1000 dollar scholarships to Dental students and eight $300 scholarships to Dental Hygiene students.

Aside from the costs of the annual meeting we spent $51,700. We had an income from dues and donations of $34,800 leaving us a balance in checking as of August 14, 2001 of $15,000.

We have 473 dues paying members and 17 dental hygienists. The annual meeting registered 307 dentists, 12 hygienists, 4 students and 15 staff registrations. 

The service aspect of the Academy membership is not represented in our expense account. Academy members who went on the various projects spent thousands of dollars traveling, providing material, and doing teaching.

We hope each of you will continue to send in your dues and contributions and encourage others to do the same, even if they  can’ t come to the annual meeting.  Participation will help further our scholarship program and worldwide service.
