Academy Members Receive Mission Calls

It is significant to note that that the Church is pursuing a new direction in utilizing fellow dentists in missionary service by calling them to use their dental backgrounds at dental schools in developing nations as the opportunities are made available. Brent and Charlene Lee and Herb and Karleen Hardy have been called to Church humanitarian service missions in Indonesia.

Brent practiced oral surgery in the Pocatello, Idaho, area. He and his wife will serve in the Indonesia Jakarta Mission. Brent will help to furnish and supply a new dental school and also be on the faculty, while Charlene will be teaching English to the university faculty as well as having other responsibilities.

Herb practiced general dentistry for 30 years in Paradise, California. He and Karleen will be helping at the Airlanga University Dental School in Surabaya, Indonesia. Karleen will also be teaching English to the university faculty. We wish each of you great success.
