Overview: The Academy of LDS Dentists has sponsored dental service trips into Puerto Vallarta for the past 3-4 years. Presently service is being done at two orphanages and two outlying villages. The orphanages are: Casa Hogar Maximo Cornejo and the Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza. The two villages are: Quimixto and La Cruz de Huanacaxtle. This year four dentists served in Puerto Vallarta for one week. This next year eight dentists will each serve for a week between Jan. 19th-Feb. 5th, 2007. All slots are currently filled for this 2007 trip. Requirements for Participation: A current and valid passport from your country of residence: US, Canadian, etc. The Mexican Government also requires a FM3 visa, which must be obtained at an official Mexican Consulate (Salt Lake City for example). The cost of the visa is $150-200.00 and must be renewed each year. Assistance will be given by the coordinators of the Puerto Vallarta project in obtaining of this visa.
